The Star Wars Knitting Goddess

knitting and sci-fi - is there anything else??? The ramblings of a crazed mother/wife/student/sci-fi fan as related to knitting (usually).

My goodness. . .

Hello! It's been a while since I updated. I just finished taking another load of laundry down from my kitchen. (Same story as before except that it was pitch black outside when I remembered that I had laundry to hang. Sigh - I will have a working dryer soon - I hope.)
Things are crazy with the kids back in school and my classes started too. Working out the schedules is tough. I have a picture of mittens I knitted for Tristan. Elena has a pair too and I'm acutally working on my second mitten for me.
Have to get more needles so I can start Tristan's poncho. And then, there's the hat and all the other projects running around in my brain.
Will update again soon,

A picture AT LAST

So I got a picture taken and downloaded. (Yea me!) I meant to put a picture of the Doctor Who Scarf only to realize that I didn't actually take a picture of the stinking scarf. This is the purse I made for my sister, Connie. She hasn't actually see it yet as her birthday isn't until September.

We have a plethora of bananas right now as Tristan loves buying them but doesn't actually eat them. Since I'm doing the Weight Watchers thing, I'll be eating a lot of them. I'm at two already this morning.

After the laundry fiasco yesterday, I was feeling like I never wanted to do laundry again, but we do like to wear clean clothes so I'm doing another load. It's not supposed to rain today. (I checked the radar on the Weather Bug - weatherbug.com)

I'm hoping to get a start on Tristan's poncho today (after I buy some new needles) and maybe a Chicago Bears hat for Mike for Christmas. I do need to work on my dad's birthday present (a long ski cap in the colors of the junior college he works at - it's the oldest public junior college in the nation- and a matching scarf) although his birthday isn't unil the end of October.

I have laundry to hang and a pizza to make.

Just to complain and apologize

I just feel like complaining and apologizing.
I apologize for not keeping up with the whole blog thing as often as I'd like. I still haven't figured out how to put the pictures from my new camera onto the computer although I do know how to post them once they are on.
Now on to my complaining.
Really, you'd complain too if this was you. I have no working dryer. I have to hang every stinking piece of laundry I was. It takes like two or three hours for it to dry. Hence, I have been putting off laundry. It dawned on me at 2:30 this morning, while up with a sick kid, that every person in this house was out of clean unmentionables. I dutifully put them in the wash and got back to sleep around four. I hung the laundry before eight this morning. Feeling quite proud of myself, I put another small load. My luck, being what it is, it started to rain while everything was still drying on the line. Now, everything is hanging up in my kitchen. It looks like the hamper exploded.
On the plus side, I did knit a small pouch for my camera. The tassle is pretty sad but I think the pouch will protect the camera while in my purse.
Also, I just got a new pattern for the STAR WARS inspired poncho for my Tristan. I got it from Ruth at the Frugal Knitting Haus. She's great, her site is great and I love her patterns.
Normally I would promise to post some pictures but my promises aren't worth too much when it comes to pictures. I will work on getting them onto the computer later tonight and hopefully will get them posted today or tomorrow.

My progress . . . and my broken keyboard

So here I am, FINALLY to update the blog.
I got a new camera for my birthday and actually took some knitting pictures but I'm out of batteries. I promise to get some and post thepictures. AND it's not totally my fault I haven't updated because someone who shall remain nameless, spilled on the keyboard and it's out of comission.
But, I have been knitting like a mad woman. I finished the Doctor Who scarf, a furry purse and a pumpkin purse. (It's so totally cute!)
Ah, the family is calling. More updates tomorrow.
Happy Knitting!
